Praying Wonders

Silent thoughts, secrets

Held long and hard, like favorite

Toys, squeezed tight by a small

Child’s hands, embraced

As tenderly as the whisper

Sent to ears by lips

Who love as sweetly, as gently

As the praying wonders

Stirred by a truth

Brilliant as the blue

In a sunlit sky, the music

Enthused by a heart who is

Bruised by starlight’s glistening

Beauty, passionate and proof

That God still holds everything

Together, in strong hands

Where even the seasons know

His authority rules, controls

Every breath, each caress, even

The senses who cause hearts

To feel and to care, to listen to…

Passion and wisdoms brought to life

By dew trickling silently

Against the bare petal of a faded

Rose who seems like a flyer

Announcing the rousing hopes

Abandoned by doubt,

Comforting spirits with reflections

And memories brought to life

On the thoughts of one who knows

Every prayer is an expression of courage

Who sends the King of Kings,

The maker of dreams

The promise I believe in…

A prayer, both wonderful and trusting,

Wishful and rusting from the

Days it has spent in the dark sea’s depths

Where salty tears and pestiferous fears

Try to calm the music we will

Dance to, the melody that springs

To life, in silhouettes of light,

Shadows of grace and embers burning

Away every doubt with a faith

That remembers the heart, the soul…

They know what it means to feel peace

Because God’s love is like a flood of joy

Erasing the darkness with feelings

So alive they touch so deeply,

So completely, like they’ll forever be…

A part of this mystery called love,

This wonder, a hope, a prayer

Astonishing even the wildness of

A heart who is genuine, authentically…

God’s child, His creation – the one

Who yearns to be with Him forever,

Eternally blessed by His presence!
