O' What Lovely Secrets Many Have Told
Time, seems in a mere blink and they were gone
Of yesteryear, vanished as morn's dew
Friends one never sees, they that never phone
Those oaths sworn that they would never leave you
Phantoms, gone into invisible graves
That which fled as if a receding tide
Some were glittering gems, the kind one saves
Now grown so faint, as if seeking to hide!
Try as you may, and your memory fails
Dozen come to mind, gone without a trace
O but once such escapades, lively tales
Three angels, each with a beautiful face
Time and its decay, friends- treasure so lost
Life rushed away, swift currents flowed
Swimming to get ahead but at what cost
O' what lovely secrets many have told!
Time, seems in a mere blink and they were gone
Of yesteryear, vanished as morn's dew
Friends one never sees, they that never phone
Those oath sworn that they would never leave you!

Great write Robert, I have to agree with Gina's statement, "sad but true."
God bless you Robert and have a blessed and wonderful week! (:
Sad but true... I have so many I never speak to or of anymore. I suppose we all do. This is a wonderful write. God bless you! Love, Gina
